Before joining The Damned in 1979, Algy played bass for the Australian proto-punk band, the Saints.
After leaving The Damned in 1980, Algy was interested in the British Heavy Metal sound. He formed Tank in 1980 and played until Tank split in 1989.
In 1997, Algy Ward and Tank reformed and played together until they split again in 2006.
Algy Ward passed away on May 17, 2023.
